New desktop editing system on its way…

Thanks to Aaron Stone at Uforik Computers in Ladysmith. He’s building a new desktop system for us. Looking forward to the new system, which is the fastest system they have built over there. We’re running the latest versions of Adobe Premier and After Effects, so speed kills.

Vancouver Island Short Film Festival- Nanaimo BC 2012 (Video and Film Production)

Two productions that I shot were accepted into the 2012 Vancouver Island Short Film Festival in Nanaimo, BC. The first, a heartfelt drama, “The Way We Mend” was directed by Linley Subryan. The second was a comedy, “The Daring Defibrillator”, directed by Corrie Peters.

‘The Way We Mend’ was one of three films nominated for Best Film. We didn’t win, but it was an honour to be nominated. The caliber of the films in this years festival was very good.

Looking ahead to Video Production in Nanaimo for 2012

Well… 2012 looks great. I’ve been working with Josh Raven on his feature film, The SeaSerpents Song. It’s been a treat to work with him and Bob Ennis, a veteran Canadian DOP, who shot for the CBC for years. We’re shooting on Perry Johnstons Red Epic, which is an incredible camera with 5,000 lines of resolution. That’s nearly 5x HD. It is a fantastic experience, and a lot of fun to work with a crew, after shooting so much solo stuff. Here’s a couple of pic from the set:

A Musical Interlude… Video Production in Nanaimo / Duncan BC

I was at the Duncan Garage Showroom filming another band when I met Erik & Tasha form Montreal. They are a great duet and are part of ‘the Darling Demaes’ I rolled the camera for a few of their songs. This is a cover of Depeche Mode – Enjoy the Silence

The boom telescopes out to nearly 16′ which is pretty cool.

Rambling about Nanaimo Video Production… Got to SEO

Yeah, I know…  I’m a Nanaimo, BC, Video Production Company and it’s shameless, but I’m blogging just to SEO. I was bummed out that when I googled ‘Nanaimo Video Production’ I was down a couple of pages, and really while it is shameless to blog for SEO… I am a Nanaimo based Video Production Company and should rank ahead of some of those that spent more time on SEO than Video Production… end of rant…
